Ramblings

Well it has only been about a year since I have posted....oops! Man I can not believe how the time flies. So much has happpend. Life is as busy as always here. To sum it up because it is late is I sent my book manuscript out... and shocker of all shockers, 1st time out ever... I mean ever and I actually had a contract for my book sent to me. Lord what do you want me to do with this? Unbelieveable. Plus he has given me the opportunity to sell some of purses at a conference in Minneapolis in a week and half... so I am under the gun to get much accomplished in the next few days... and It is our final kids club on Wednesday night next week. Which by the way has been great this year. We have been having Camp Iwilligoway learning to live God's way and it has been a huge blessing to be working with these kids. Anyways... just a glimpse at life at the moment. I am going to try to blog again but I am not promising anything!
Feels good just to be chatting again.

Blink... Blink... Summers GOne????

Unbelieveable.......

My summer is gone!!!!!!! WHen did that happen? Anyways... life has been so full... looking at the calender I have not had a free weekend since June 17th. Between camping trips, weddings, family stuff and Vbs which took up 3 weeks of my life almost 12 hours a day (for vbs)my summer is gone. We actually started teaching school again this week. Kids were begging to start again and we are now into the swing of it. In addition Ben and I have felt led to take on the kids club ministry at our church. It meets every other wednesday night. So we will be hopping. VBS was awesome.... I forgot to take pics but that's okay.... last year our largest number or kids was 70 and only on one night. This year. our low was 92 and our high 98! GOD IS SO GOOD!!! And about 1/2 of those parents came with their children to the sunday morning worship! Soo COOL. Funny moment was when I was making our life size donkey out of foam Jake walked by and says "Hey nice Work on the ASS mom...... what!!! yeah...... by the way the pattern I printed out... the donkey is called an African Ass and he read it on the pattern as he was walking by... boy did I bust a gut..... other than that... honestly I am trying to wrap my mind around the fact the summer has blown by and we have already started school again.....
wow......Fall here we come!

The de-crowning of a princess/ and hodge podge

Wow... What a week... first let me start of by saying sorry that I dropped off the side of the earth but we are trying to get ready to be gone for 1 whole week starting tomorrow a.m. It is a great time up at the lake with ALL of my hubby's family. Usually it is a great time so that explains why I haven't been on.

Now to my story....
Bug Bug our 2 1/2 year old usually falls asleep on our bed at night and then is moved up to her own bed so she actually goes to sleep instead of visiting with her sister! Well Last night about 10:00 she was still awake on our bed so Hubbster was going to bring her to bed. On her head was taped to her hair,(because it wouldn't stay in otherwise) was a circle of paper... A "Crown" that her bigger sister had made her earlier in the morning. I come in the bedroom and Hubby is removing the tape and exclaiming that she's got tape in her hair.....
I proceed to look at Bug, who's bottom lip is beginning to droop, quiver and a sliver of tears are at the corner of her eyes..... The princess is getting decrowned. I look at hubbster and begin to explain that he was decrowning a princess.... the wailing begins as hubby backtracks trying to explain that he did know that is was a crown. The crying continues.... all bug can think of is that she's been decrowned. I looked at bug bug and explained.... "daddy is a boy and he doesn't understand about us princesses..... needless to say she went to bed with her mighty paper crown taped on her head.... She'd been recrowned..... WHEW!

Anyways... I have finish making muffins and waffles to freeze for when we are gone... bags to pack and lists to make to make sure we have everything along... and I hate not having my house clean when I am leaving.... that way when I come back it isn't such a big deal! We won't be checking back in until next saturday or Sunday ... but I will be back....! Have a great weekend and week everybody!

Well You said you would take another!

Well SO far you have all said you would read another story so here you go. This is another one that would go in a series with the "The Hungry Tickle Bug". In this series I want interaction between the parent and child to happen during the story. So anyways here's another one. Let me know your honest thoughts!

A Hug For Snugs

Welcome to Walla Walla Wugs
Home to a tiny bug called Snugs.

On one sunny day, Snugs decided to find
What made hugs special and one of a kind.

He tried to hug an old ugly fly,
But it was fast and zoomed right on by.

Then he hugged a large slithering snake,
But hugging him was a HUGE MISSSSTAKE!

He gave a squeeze to a dirty earthworm,
But all it did was squiggle and squirm.

In a small pond was a colorful fish
But his hugs were slippery and slimy.... UH ISH!

He asked for a hug from an old army ant
But he replied, "I'm too busy and simple can't!"

Moving on he tried to hug a tree
But got stung by a busy bumblebee.

Snugs tried to hug a big hairy cat,
But all he did was hiss and spat!

And when he hugged a smelly bear,
He acted as if he didn't care.

Getting desperate he hugged a shoe,
But it was old and stinky - PEEEEUUUUUWWWW!

Thinking the perfect hug could not be found
Sighing, Snugs sat on the grassy green ground.

All of a sudden it came to his mind,
He knew which hug was one of a kind.

Rushing home he hugged mom and dad tight,
Knowing in his heart this hug was just right.

Now it's your turn to give hugging a try,
Hug someone you know and love nearby.

Anyways.. I know there are areas that the meter and pentameter is off so This one is definitly still a work in process.... hope you enjoy! oh and if you weren't here yesterday I had posted a story I had written and this would be another one in the series....
Have a great day all!

I have gone to four years of college and have no degree. Sometimes this really bothers me but for the wrong reasons. I feel foolish at assemblies at the college where my husband works because they always ask,"And where do you work?" I reply... "I stay at home with my children." To me it seems like I get the "Oh, That's wonderful". But really they are thinking... ummm sits at home and eats bon bons all day, or that my job isn't difficult. I honestly don't want to be working outside the home. I have always had the desire to be at home with my kids but it is hard when I am in social settings. I know what I am doing is what I should be doing but I do sometimes still feel like I am not making the grade because I am degree less. Honestly.. I hated college.. I loved the social aspect but hated the classes. Everything I took I could not see myself doing for the rest of my life. I am going to go back and get my degree so if something should happen to Ben I have something to support my family with. I was going to do so this summer with taking a class here and there but nothing at the school lined up. So I guess I will wait some more. So that brings me to my next point. What to go for? I need change desperately in whatever I do.... so I am thinking Interior Design or Writing. I guess writing would be the first option just because if something did happen to Ben I could work from home easier! I have pursued writing and have taught myself a few things. So Ithought that I would share a couple of my stories with you. If you have children I would love it if you would read them to them and give me back feed back on their responses. If I wrote I feel this is where I would probably head. Anyways here are some sample pieces. Let me know your thoughts.

The Hungry Tickle Bug

I'm a tickle bug as you can see,
I live in this old sycamore tree.

And when it is time to eat my lunch,
I scout for children that I can munch.

My tummy empty of giggles and glee,
I scurry right down my leafy green tree.

Though the tall grass and into the street,
I could be squished by people's big feet.

Peeking in windows - sneaking through doors
Searching for a house - will it be yours?

Quickly I dash through someones backyard,
Jumping over the large Saint Bernard.

Slipping beneath the crack of a door,
I tiptoe across the hardwood floor.

Quietly creeping down the long hall
Fingerprint smudges cover the wall.

Ah Ha! At last my lunch is in sight,
Licking my lips, I take the first bite.

Using the hands of somebody dear,
Giggles begin as I tickly your ear.

Finding it gooey and somewhat gummy,
Tickling your tummy, is oh so yummy.

I tickle my way down to your feet,
The giggles here are extra sweet.

Lunch with you is so much fun
I'm sad to say that I must run.

You must not worry, for I'll be back,
You happen to be my favorite snack!

I have another story in this series... but I will wait and see what you guys think of the first one. Seriously I would take as much feed back as you would be willing to give... HOnesty people... honest opinions....
Anyways.. who knows what God wants... we will see....

Faster than a speeding bullet.... It's super daddy!!!

Oh he flew through the air with the greatest of ease..... not really but it was a good attempt!

We all went camping this weekend. Yep family camping trip! Smore's.... hot dogs.. hamburgers....and swimming. The Swimming lets talk about that. Jake is now old enough to be on his own and spent the whole day on the water slide with his best friend. Kenzie scared to death to stick her face in the water and with help from mom and dad actually got her face wet and started to float! Yea... for small victories..... Leah.. timid at first but then loving the fun of the water... and benjino... his first trip and loved it. Ben... Big Ben will probably post a cool pic on his website. and dad.....(Big Ben) leans over to me in the kiddy pool and says... I am going to go off the diving board... (Pause for a moment and let me set the stage.) These "cool" high schoolers were doing flips off the board.( Okay resume story)
"Okay"... "sounds good" I reply... thinking that he was just going to jump of the board... but no... I look up and I see hubbster hurling through the air attempting a full summersault. The approach was great... the initial tuck brillant, but the landing..... OUch! Yep he untucked a little to quickly and and landed flat on his back!!!
I must say they were a few snickers as he made his way to the edge .. but what can I say.... I love you honey.... even your best attempt as superman.

To my honey...

Happy Father's day! What a joy to be raising our 4 children together! I appreciate your dedication to becoming the man God wants you to be.... I love it when you are being goofy with the kids.... That you tuck them into bed every night, leading them in prayer.....The way you stick it through the tough times on the job so that you can provide for all of us. I love you! I appreciate all that you do for us. We love you and we hope you had a great day!

Young and Spry I thought I was

Until one night upon the shining lake
My breath and youth it did take
Excitement coursed through my veins
Days of youth I wished to regain
Cheers ringing from my son and daughter
I leapt into the chilly waters
Skies ready and rope taunt
My skills I would soon flaunt
Like I never stopped
Out of the water I did pop!
Soaring across the rippling wake
Way to go mom! Cheered Jake
What happened next I do not know
But water up my crack like an arrow
Piercing such tender flesh
I knew I was a mess
Circling around the boat came
"One my time" I shouted "I’m game!"
None of them knowing it was a farce
But out of the water shot my aching arse
In front of all to see I dropped one ski
Continuing with one quite calmly
When once again I felt myself waver
I decided this time I would land much safer
Sinking into the waters below
Much water I did swallow
Thrice I tried to raise my weary booty
Knowing my bowels I must soon empty
The shore seeming so far away
I decided I would take the time to pray
When upon the shore I did come
I sprinted my tightly clenched bumm
Up the stairs and down the hall
To the bathroom I did haul
When all was said and done
It really wasn’t all that fun
For when the water like an arrow it did pierce
It left a bloody gash that was quite fierce!
So one night upon the shiny lake
My breath and youth it did take!
